2010 Southern Downs Sculpture Symposium is scheduled to be held in September. During the 4th to the 20th September 2010 the Symposium will commission five Guest Sculptors to carve local Warwick Tanamerah Sandstone and recruit up to 20 Participating Sculptors.  Stanthorpe and surrounding areas will also be able to submit an expression of interest for a sculpture. In this particular case a block of granite will be supplied as it is the local stone for the granite belt.

Progress can be viewed and enjoyed by general public at Leslie Park, Warwick. Five sculptures, monumental in size, will be donated to various community groups within the Southern Downs Regional Shire adding to the ‘Sculpture Trail’.

The Symposium will include workshops, school programs, Information Sessions, a Sculpture Gallery Exhibition, Market Stalls and the Sculptor’s Auction. Sign up to our Newsletter to be kept up-to-date.
